How can we not name people if every question begins with "who"?

ReplyDelete1) L. in high school - statuesque, cheekbones to die for, Breck girl hair, beatific smile with a hint of irony, eyelashes that, incredibly, weren't fake. "Hey, Beautiful!" to her face, "Too bad about the acne" behind her back.
2) R. in university. Big brain, megalomanic with an inferiority complex. Introduced me to John Ashbery & Wallace Stevens. Smart move.
3) A. in 5th grade. She looked like a monkey, kind of like Barbra Streisand as a kid with big ears. Had me in stitches constantly, an antidote to my uber-serious, way-too-Protestant family.
4) J. in the present - mine, all mine!
