Mood from 2000

I lost harmonies in the crude iron line-
shot sympathy on stark dystopian vine.

"The Shy Autos" in Sugar In The Raw, a brunch-infused assemblage book we made at Jonathan Skinner and Isabelle Pelissier's house on Huntington Ave., Buffalo, on April 22, 2000. W/Chris Alexander, Michael Kelleher, myself (credited as "Douglass Finley Crashpants"), Linda Russo, and Edwin Torres.

Moody as usual. But other lines are happier: "three rooms and a well,/cinnamon with too sweet". Lots of Akron/Kent factory-wage english-major boo-hoo still rippling through me.

Here's a bit of my new mood:

little musics and jams
latkas and nothing

take a bus
smell the snow
the luv-n-oven pizza

The Squills will be the next Mahavishnu Orchestra + Golden Palominos + Fugs.

  1. Count 'em and, um, well, just count 'em. Lief Garrett on drugs, C.A.'s Jack Spicer-like poems, Linda's Cows, Jon's map and field notes, and Torres' vowel reduction homage to Elian Gonzalez. A good day!
